![]() ![]() They seem very rushed or slow, which again I can understand because of low staff. Long awkward pauses that don’t signal a beginning, ending, or transition regarding a conversation or interaction. Lots of eye contact without a smile or greeting. All of the workers I’ve interacted with have been some version of quiet or just ill mannered. They were super welcoming and efficient with orders! I know we’re still in a pandemic and they may be short on workers, but things are just not the same. A lot of the staff were moved or quit I assume. This location used to be a reliable favorite until a few months ago. A change needs to be made at the district management level. I can’t understand how the Augusta area Starbucks have become SO TERRIBLE post Pandemic, when Atlanta, Boca, and other locations we frequent are still top notch with service and cleanliness, and with hiring quality staff. At that point we just walked out with no coffee. Both front counter associates there today were sullen and and unfriendly. Not only did she refuse to even look for an open bag of non-Pike, she got extreme attitude about even being asked to make a pour over, which is a pretty standard order, when one doesn’t drink Pike. That is literally the whole point of a pour over. The policy has ALWAYS been that if they didn’t have a specific blend open, they’d get one and open it. As is the new usual, the barista didn’t even know how to ring it up, so she asked another barista for help, and the “helper” told her that they could only do pour overs with what they had on the back counter. we went into the Robert c Daniel location today at 4PM, there were NO customers, so it was a good time to ask for a Komodo Dragon Pourover, as the pike in the machines is always burnt, and we dont ask for pour overs when there is a line. Inconsistent hours, random closings, and rude employees. Over the last several months, it’s now become on par with the other, generally terrible, Augusta locations (looking at you Mullins crossing and i20!!! ). The one that always got your order right, and in a timely manner. This used to be the “good” Starbucks in Augusta. Great start, needs fine tuning and a professional makeover with better use of the large space. I had an iced mocha once here that was pleasing but sweet. The smoothies and coffees look to be on point. I want to love these local places but they leave me wanting more and I’m sad about that. The menu should say bagel sandwich if it’s going to be served this way. There was maybe 2oz of salmon on one side. I was left with half of a bagel with nothing on it. There was cream cheese on only one side of my salmon bagel. I ordered off of the regular menu this time. The avocado toast is like guacamole which for a place that goes to lengths to make its bread from scratch, I’d expect to be fresh avocado sliced. The window facing bar seating is awkward and uncomfortable. There is wasted floor space with few tables to sit at. They need more indoor seating at inward facing tables, and the coffee and tea bar on the side clutters up the atmosphere more than it already is. The regular menu is simple and Southern breakfast with the addition of fresh NY deli style bagels and specialty millennial toasts. I wish this place and the Aiken location would make special menus easier to read and find with larger print that draw the eye in. They make all of their own breads and pastries.
